Urwa Tul Wusqa better known as Urwa Hocane is an established name in Pakistani entertainment. She is one of theose actresses who emerged on the scene during past ten years as a VJ and then turned actresses to prove their talent. Urwa started her career as a VJ for ARY Musik. In 2012, Urwa Hocane made her acting debut with TV drama ‘Meri Ladli’. Urwa and her sister Mawra Hocane are undoubtedly one of the very best Divas from Pakistan in current time. While Mawra is working on her Bollywood projects this year, Urwa had made her big screen debut last year with a super hit film ‘Na Maloom Afraad’.

11 Questions with VJ Turned Model & Actress Urwa Hocane
1. How you became a VJ?
Urwa: I wanted to be a theater actor, and I was pursuing that during my teenage years. During that time I was asked to host a show in Islamabad and that is how it started.
2. What inspires you?
Urwa: Love, traveling, and nature are very inspiring. But of course people in my life my loved ones inspire me the most.
3. What sparked your interest in acting?
Urwa: I gave my first acting audition during my school days it was the moment of realization for me that I was meant for acting.
4. How has Pakistani TV industry has changed over the past years?
Urwa: It is truly sad that I see only a few quality projects on television now. It seems as many people are working on to rebuild the film industry and drama serials have been forgotten.
5. How you describe your career? Was it a well struggled one or it was all about fortunate events?
Urwa: It has been mix of both, I worked hard and it followed by many fortunate incidents.
6. How was your experience working in Na Maloom Afraad?
Urwa: It was absolutely wonderful! It was indeed a lot of fun and learning.
7. Mawra, your sister is your contemporary. Does that hinter your relationship with your sister?
Urwa: It is true that Mawra is my contemporary but that can never affect our personal relationship. We both believe that we will get whatever is meant for us and make each other proud. I couldn’t have asked for better sister.
8. Will we get to see more of you on big screen?
Urwa: Yes, of course! Films are my new love and a lot of exciting projects are coming in future.
9. What is your tip to deal with failure?
Urwa: Learn from it and move on.
10. Who is your favourite co-star and why?
Urwa: I feel that I am very lucky as I have worked with many brilliant actors. It would be utterly unfair to name only one.
11. Any advice for inspiring female VJs and actors?
Urwa: Anything that you enjoy doing cannot be wrong do what you love. You will end up enjoying every bit of it.
