Bollywood yields plentiful films a year and a few actors apart, who have films releasing almost every year, others are either too discerning about their work or don’t have substantial film offers coming their way. Whatever the reason, they have to wait until the right occasion comes their way.
Here are six Bollywood actors who are making comeback after a lengthy break.
1. Imran Khan
Imran Khan decided to take a break after receiving criticism for his acting in his last film, ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein‘. The actor didn’t sign a new film for a long time. Finally, after finishing his paternity leave, he agreed to act in Nikhil Advani’s ‘Katti Batti‘ opposite Kangana Ranaut.
2. Kajol
Kajol has been very careful about films ever since she got married. It took her five years to sign her next project, ‘Dilwale‘, in which she is acting opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Seemingly, the actress was initially supposed to star in Ram Madhvani’s version of Danish television show, ‘Penoza‘, but, she chose not to do the project due to financial issues. Lastly, it took Rohit Shetty to re-unite the hit duo of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan on screen.
3. Asin
Asin acted in a number with numerous A-listers such as Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar after her Bollywood debut in 2008 with biggest hit of the year, ‘Ghajini‘. Nevertheless, Asin has been absent in action from the last three years. Her imminent film opposite Abhishek Bachchan too has been delayed. Currently, the actress hasn’t taken up any other project.
4. John Abraham
His last film ‘Madras Café‘, directed by Shoojit Sircar, received enormous critical acclaim. After the film, the John took a break from work and announced his wedding to investment banker, Priya Runchal. Apparently, the actor had many films in his pool, which kept him busy during these years. John upholds that he ‘prefers’ to be out of sight and likes to talk when he has something to talk about.
5. Amit Sadh
Amit has been a part of few films in the past, he got to limelight two years ago in Abhishek Kapoor’s, ‘Kai Po Che‘. The film based on Chetan Bhagat’s Three Mistakes of My Life and also starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. The film went on to do decently well at the box-office and Amit gathered praise for the portrayal of the susceptible Omi. Later, the actor signed a couple of films including ‘Guddu Rangeela‘, though, a leg injury caused delay of his projects.
6. Sunny Deol
Sunny Deol has never been famous for doing several films concurrently. Currently too, he is only working on his forthcoming film, ‘Ghayal Once Again‘. After his last release in 2013, which was a failure at box-office, the actor appeared in a passing role in ‘Dishkiyaoon‘ — he replaced Sanjay Dutt.
