Abbottabad and Quetta Secure Victories, Islamabad and Hyderabad Continue Winning Streak in Hanif Mohammad Trophy

 In an eventful day of cricket, Abbottabad and Quetta notched up their first victories of the season, while Islamabad and Hyderabad continued their impressive form with their second consecutive wins in the ongoing cricket season.

Hyderabad vs. DM Jamali

In a thrilling encounter, DM Jamali began the day at 153-4 after losing key batsman Taimur Ali the previous day. Abid Ali Mengal’s resilient 68 and Mohammad Shahid’s fighting 73 helped DM Jamali reach 267, although the rest of the lineup struggled to contribute. Hyderabad’s Jawad Ali shone with the ball, taking four crucial wickets.

Chasing 134 in the final innings, Hyderabad managed a comfortable victory. Daniyal Hussain Rajput and Mohammad Suleman both scored half-centuries to ensure that the target was achieved without any major hiccups.

Result: Hyderabad won by 8 wickets.

Islamabad vs. Larkana

Larkana began their day at 139-5, with Faraz Aziz holding the crease. His vital contribution of 107 took Larkana’s total to 277 before they were bowled out. Mohammad Shayan Shaikh was the standout performer with the ball, claiming four wickets to keep Islamabad in control.

Facing a meager target of 23 runs in the final innings, Islamabad’s openers easily reached the goal without losing a single wicket, sealing a comprehensive ten-wicket victory.

Result: Islamabad won by 10 wickets.

Karachi Blues vs. Abbottabad

Abbottabad was well-placed to win on the final day, starting at 246-6, just 34 runs behind Karachi Blues. Despite losing a wicket, Abbottabad successfully reached their target. Ahmed Khan played a pivotal role with an unbeaten 64, anchoring the innings and ensuring a smooth finish.

Result: Abbottabad won by 3 wickets.

AJK vs. Quetta

Quetta began the day at 134-1 and declared their innings at 248. Hazrat Wali’s century and Abdul Wahid Bangalzai’s crucial 84 contributed significantly to their total. AJK’s bowler Rohaan Qadri took three wickets but found little support from his teammates.

Quetta’s bowlers produced an outstanding performance, with Gohar Faiz leading the charge with four wickets. Mohammad Idrees and Najeeb Ullah Jnr chipped in with two wickets each as AJK was bundled out for just 87 runs.

Result: Quetta won by 173 runs.
