On the fourth day of the fourth round match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023-24 at Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi secured their first win in the tournament with an emphatic seven-wicket victory over Faisalabad.
Rawalpindi successfully chased down the 204-run target with an outstanding unbeaten century by opener Abdul Faseeh, who remained not out at 109 off 163 balls, adorned with 17 boundaries.
In another notable match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Karachi Whites played to a draw against Lahore Whites, with skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed’s unbeaten double century and Rameez Aziz’s 151 guiding Karachi Whites to an imposing total of 784 for five in response to Lahore Whites’ first innings score of 509 for nine declared.
Peshawar secured their second win of the tournament by defeating Lahore Blues by three wickets at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium. Chasing a target of 190 runs, Peshawar reached the required total despite losing seven wickets. Kamran Ghulam led the charge with a half-century, scoring 50 runs off 99 balls.
The match between FATA and Multan at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi ended in a draw after FATA, following an enforced follow-on, scored 336 for nine. Mohammad Irfan Khan was the top-scorer for FATA, contributing 84 runs off 177 balls.
