Abrar Ahmed Makes Fitness Progress but Unavailability for Second Test

Pakistan’s spinner Abrar Ahmed has shown notable improvement in his condition, marking a positive step in his recovery process. Recent reports indicate that Abrar has commenced bowling at a moderate intensity, operating at 50% capacity as part of his rehabilitation.

Despite the encouraging progress observed since his diagnosis during the Canberra match, Abrar has not achieved complete freedom from symptoms. While his efforts have been commendable, he remains short of the necessary level of recovery to participate in the forthcoming second Test match.

The nature of Abrar’s injury, coupled with the demanding workload that a spinner typically endures in a Test match, warrants cautious handling of his return to the field. Consequently, he will remain unavailable for selection in the second Test.

A preliminary fitness evaluation has been scheduled for December 25, aiming to assess Abrar’s readiness to resume full participation. This assessment will serve as a pivotal determinant in outlining a probable timeline for his return to competitive action.

Pakistan’s team management remains vigilant about Abrar Ahmed’s rehabilitation, ensuring a meticulous approach in allowing him ample time to recuperate and regain optimal fitness before rejoining the squad for future  engagements.
