Ahsan Khan and Kinza Hashmi are all set to collaborate in their upcoming series Clean Sweep. The Pakistani entertainment industry seems to be exploring new ideas surrounding the country’s favourite sport – cricket. Recently, Hareem Farooq announced her upcoming series, 22 Qadam, which is about female cricketers, and now Clean Sweep has joined the bandwagon. The series revolves around the T20 World Cup, with a twist – an environmental message. The show is associated with the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, and the story revolves around Karachi residents taking on the mission to clean their surroundings during the Cricket World Cup.
The recently released teaser shows Ahsan Khan in cricket gear stepping onto a field and batting, with commentary and a crowd cheering in the background. The series features an Australian-born Pakistani girl, Noor, played by Kinza Hashmi, who is visiting Karachi to write her thesis on environmental pollution, and a British-born Pakistani, Yousuf, played by Ahsan Khan. Yousuf has come to Pakistan to complete his coaching hours for his coaching certification Level-1.
Clean Sweep is not only entertaining, but it is also sending an important message about environmental conservation. The story focuses on the mission to clean the surroundings of the Cricket World Cup while dealing with the ignorance of people regarding solid waste and the solid waste mafia. This is the first time Ahsan Khan and Kinza Hashmi will be seen together on screen. Khan was last seen in the drama Fraud, whereas Hashmi’s drama Mere Ban Jao is currently on-air.
The series is directed by Ali Farhan Anchan, who has previously worked with both stars – Hashmi in Ruposh and Khan in Merey Humnasheen. The production of Clean Sweep is done by Zeekay Films and Huma Khan and penned by Zeekay.
The upcoming series is highly anticipated, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how Ahsan Khan and Kinza Hashmi’s chemistry unfolds on the screen. Clean Sweep is all set to hit the small screens soon.
