Amir Hassan’s five-wicket haul leads Pakistan U19 to nine-wicket win

Amir Hassan’s impressive five-wicket haul helped Pakistan U19 register a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Bangladesh U19 in the first one-day match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

After winning the toss, Pakistan captain Saad Baig invited the hosts to bat first. Amir was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, picking up five wickets for just 24 runs in his 10 overs, as Bangladesh U19 could only manage to score 165 for nine in their 50 overs.

In reply, Pakistan U19’s openers Shahzaib Khan and Azan Awais put up an unbeaten 148-run partnership to lead their team to victory with 76 balls to spare. Shahzaib was dismissed after scoring 83 off 116 balls, while Azan remained unbeaten on 69 off 99 balls.

Amir was named the player of the match for his outstanding bowling performance, and the two teams will now face each other again on May 8th for the second one-day match of the five-match series.
