Azhar Mahmood Appointed Head Coach for Pakistan’s T20I Series Against New Zealand

Former Pakistan fast bowler Azhar Mahmood has been named as the head coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand. The matches are scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to April 27.

Azhar Mahmood, who represented Pakistan in 164 internationals, boasting 162 wickets and scoring 2,421 runs, brings a wealth of experience to the coaching role. His previous stint with the Pakistan men’s cricket team was from 2016 to 2019, during which he served as the bowling coach.

In addition to Azhar Mahmood, the team management for the New Zealand T20Is includes Wahab Riaz as the senior team manager and Mohammad Yousuf as the batting coach. Saeed Ajmal, who previously served as the bowling coach during tours of Australia and New Zealand, will continue in his role as the spin bowling coach.
