Swaarangi is a forthcoming Pakistani movie starring Resham and Ayub Khosa. Even before its release the film is making news since Swaarangi is the first Pakistani movie which has been banned for mass release by censor board. However serious circuits in Pakistani cinema believe that the ban is a decision which must be revisited.
Swaarangi is a film which is is focusing on a social issue which is common yet neglected in Pakistan. The film has been recorded at real locations near Kalabagh.

Swaarangi is inspired by real life incidents and highlights a certain social issue. It is a message oriented film which not only marks the return of film star Resham to the silver screen after a gap of more than 7 years but also tries to reflect our attention towards a serious social problem in Pakistan.

Since the film is about a social message oriented film, therefore the ban on Swaarangi is unjust and it should be lifted. While talking about the ban on film the leading lady of Swaarangi – Resham said,
“In the process of rebuilding a society cinema has an important role, the solution to resolve such social issues is certainly not banning a film the solution, however, is to engage into the debate and discussion to reach to the solution of such social problems. Films like Swaarangi are the voice of common people, and and an attempt to point out attention needing issues in our society.”
