In the second warm-up match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Bangladesh secured a 23-run victory over Pakistan at the ICC Academy Oval 2.
Bangladesh, batting first, posted a competitive total of 140/7 in their 20 overs. In response, Pakistan’s chase fell short as they were bowled out for 117 in 18.4 overs.
For Pakistan, Omaima Sohail was the top scorer with a solid 33, while captain Fatima Sana and Gul Feroza contributed 17 runs each. However, the team could not build partnerships to reach the target.
On the bowling front, Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal impressed with her spin, taking 2 wickets for 19 runs in her four overs. Veteran all-rounder Nida Dar also chipped in with 1 wicket for 15 runs from her three overs.
Bangladesh’s total proved too much for Pakistan as they fell 23 runs short in this warm-up encounter, with Bangladesh emerging victorious ahead of the tournament.
