Basit Ali Throws Down Challenge to Babar Azam: Hit Three Straight Sixes or I’ll Delete YouTube Channel

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has issued a bold challenge to current captain Babar Azam, daring him to hit three consecutive sixes straight down the ground against top-tier teams. Ali has set a high stakes wager, vowing to delete his YouTube channel if Azam succeeds in the challenge.

In a statement, Ali emphasized the significance of Azam’s feat, specifying that the sixes must be struck against formidable opponents, not against lesser-ranked teams like the USA or Ireland.

“If Babar Azam hits three straight sixes against top teams, not against the likes of the USA or Ireland, but against top teams, I will shut down my YouTube channel. If he accepts this challenge, he should say that he accepts it. And if he can’t hit those sixes in the World Cup, then he shouldn’t open the batting,” Ali asserted.

The challenge comes amidst Azam’s recent reappointment as the white-ball captain of the Pakistan men’s cricket team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This decision followed Azam’s earlier resignation from the role in November, which led to Shaheen Shah Afridi’s interim captaincy.

Pakistan’s preparation for the World Cup has seen mixed results, with a drawn T20I series against an inexperienced New Zealand side. As they gear up for the tournament, Pakistan is scheduled to face Ireland and England in the shortest format of the game over the coming weeks.

With Ali’s challenge adding an intriguing subplot to Azam’s leadership journey, all eyes will be on the Pakistani captain as he aims to lead his team to success in the highly anticipated T20 World Cup.
