Today was the last mega episode of Benaam. The daily soap was loved and enjoyed by audiences across the nation. The performances, dialogues and screenplay earned praises from critics and audiences alike. Special mention should be made for Anoushay Abbasi as Aimal, Noor Hassan as Haider, and Saad Qureshi as Umer who remained consistently amazing throughout the shows run. Their portrayals of their roles has been perfect throughout the show. They all made us feel the emotions that they went through and made the viewers sympathize with them. The whole cast and crew did a wonderful job, but it was Anoushay, Noor and Saad who really stole the show.
This was a week of interesting developments and storylines coming to an end. Aisha learns that Arsalan is already married, she calls Umer to take her home but their mother insists she stay with Arsalan and sort out her matters, much to Umer’s dismay.
Laiba and Rabia continue to spew hate against Aimal and Aiza in front of Amna and Haider.
Laiba tells Aimal that she is the one who told Tooba about her and Umer. On the other hand, she continues to come between Aiza and Haider.
Aiza prays that their problems go away and the truth can prevail. Arsalan’s sister wants Umer to come home and take Tooba with her while his mother can return to their old house. Umer refuses to her immediately. He tells his mother to not come under Tooba’s family’s pressure anymore.
Babar is arrested and is punished for his crimes. Rabia comes to see him one last time in prison. He asks for her forgiveness and for all his sins. From this scene, we can see that Babar realizes his mistakes and regrets them. He finally feels apologetic for his behavior and being his sister, Rabia feels sad for him.
Haider overhears Laiba confessing in front of Aimal and Aiza that she was the one who gave Amna the medicine. He slaps her and tells his mother to get her married as soon as she can. Now that the drama has come to its end, Haider finally does the needful and lets Laiba kow exactly how he feels about her.
Umer brings Aisha home and tells Arsalan and his sister that he will divorce Tooba. The character development of Umer has remained impressive throughout the show. He no longer feels like he has to stay with Tooba just to protect his sister’s marriage and is no longer afraid to take a stand.
Aimal tries to convince Aiza to forgive Haider but she can’t forget the pain he caused her. Aiza tells Haider that their relationship won’t be the same ever again. This scene shows how big of a heart the two sisters have. Despite the pain that the two of them have gone through, they still manage to forgive the people who have hurt them.
Aisha tells Umer to stop worrying about her and fight for his own happiness. The sibling relationships in this drama has shown us all just how wonderful it is to have someone in your life who is willing to sacrifice their happiness for you. The fact that Aisha supports whatever decision Umer will take even though it can endanger her own marriage just shows how much she loves her brother and realizes that he has made so many sacrifices for her.
Laiba tells Haider she will die if she gets married to anyone else to which he tells her to die then. Her obsession still hasn’t ended and it’s almost sad to see her being so desperate about someone who has no love for her at all.
Amna fixes Laiba’s marriage soon after that despite Laiba and Rabia’s reluctance. There comes a time when everyone has to move on no matter how hard it might be. However, it seems like Laiba still hasn’t learned her lesson.
On the day of her wedding, Laiba asks Haider to meet her one last time. She asks him to give her juice and takes a sip from his hands. Not knowing it is poisoned, Haider does as she asks. Rabia finds Laiba unconscious. They rush her to the hospital where she is pronounced dead.
At Laiba’s memorial, Umer’s mother asks Aimal to forgive her for all the things she said to her and wants Aimal to come home.
Arsalan and his sister come to take Aisha home and ask Umer’s family for their forgiveness for all the lies they have told them. They’ve finally realized all the pain and suffering they’ve caused to Umer’s family.
During the hard times, Aiza looks after Rabia. Seeing the fact that Aiza is treating her with such kidness even though Rabia had made her life so difficult, makes Rabia warm up to her.
Haider and Aiza patch things up. He promises to never hurt her again. Rabia asks Aimal and Aiza to forgive her and Laiba so her soul can be at peace. Both of them forgive Laiba which puts Rabia at ease.
After a lot of convincing, Aimal agrees to marry Umer. Rabia gives her the jewelry she had saved for Laiba. Rabia is apologetic for the way she had treated the two sisters and after losing her daughter, she has let go of all her ill feelings towards them.
The show ends with everyone reuniting and being happy on Aimal and Umer’s wedding, the perfect end to the drama.
The show had the message of truth, destiny and how we only get what’s meant for us. The makers of the show did an amazing job with the story and the plotline. The best part was the happy note at which the show ended. Congratulations to the entire team of Benaam for the success of their show.
