Benaam is off to a promising start with some power-packed performances by the lead actors!

ARY Digital’s highly anticipated drama serial ‘Benaam’ finally went on-air last week. This Ali Masud Saeed directorial managed to grab everyone’s attention thanks to its lead cast. The plot has been very well-written and the actors including Noor Hassan, Anoushay Abbasi, Saad Qureshi and Babar Ali have done complete justice to their roles.

In its first week, Benaam introduced us to all the characters and their individual storylines. Anoushay Abbasi, who plays one of the most pivotal roles in the serial, essayed her character down to perfection. She plays the role of Aimal who lives with her twin sister and step-father. The twin sisters share a sweet sisterly bond and the love they have for their step-father is too pure for words. In the first few episodes we seem them brave through many hardships from their father’s deteriorating health and their land-lord Babar, played by Imran Aslam, who harasses them all the time.

Another important role is that of Saad Qureshi who plays the role of the sweet boy next door Umer. In the first weeks episodes we see how Umer is in love with Aimal and helps her family out in their time of need.

Noor Hassan plays the role of Haider, a hardworking young man who secures a good job and makes everyone proud. His cousin Laiba is a spoiled girl of a rich father with major attitude problems. The two of them are engaged to be married and she causes many problems in his life. The other characters are equally interesting for instance Taimoor, played by Babar Ali, and his wife Rabia who is played by Nadia Hussain.

The main reveal of the show came when we learned that Aimal and Aiza are the biological daughters of Taimoor, Laiba’s father. We can’t wait to see how the writers and director will build the story around that in the upcoming episodes.

Will Taimoor step up and take responsibility of the twins now that their step-father’s condition is worsening? Will there be an end to Babar and his antics? Will things get easier for Aimal and Aiza?
