Canon launches World’s First 50 Mega Pixel Camera

Canon has launched the world’s first full-frame 35mm sensor digital cameras with 50MP resolution – 5DS R. Canon’s latest camera was unveiled at an event which was conducted in Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore. The astounding ceremony was adorned with the presence of numerous prestigious Photographers and Dealers from all over the country.

The star of the event, Canon EOS 5DSR, was unveiled with a bang and beautiful models presented the stunning camera while walking on the ramp. Canon Pakistan’s Head, Mr. Wrixon Wong, briefed the audience about the extraordinary features of the latest Canon camera and internationally acclaimed photographer Mr. Teoh Peng Kee, and conducted an hour long session, explaining his experience with the Canon EOS 5DSR, showing back to back breathtaking photographs, captured by him through Canon EOS 5DSR, on the multimedia. The event ceremony was initiated by Mr. Nihal Naqvi from Mega Business Machine. He welcomed the guests and gave them slight introduction of the Canon EOS 5DSR and their relation with Canon. Appreciation Shields were also given to the dealers and photographers, during the ceremony.

Prior to this model, the highest resolution for Canon cameras was 20MP. The company has gone a step further and introduced 50.6 megapixel cameras with a Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors, which provide a very high image quality with super fast processing speed. The camera not only has a high resolution of 50.6 mega pixels, but a highly precise autofocus as well. The camera comes with a 61-Point High Density Reticular AF array including up to 41 cross-type AF points and EOS iTR AF. It also has the EOS Scene Detection system featuring a 150,000-pixel RGB+IR 252-zone metering sensor that gives more performance and precision. The EOS 5DS R was in-built in a manner that would give the best output to the user in terms of image quality and functionality. The design is such to ensure minimum shakes and more stability while shooting, which Canon accomplished via a reinforced chassis, base plate and tripod lug to improve rigidity.

Canon’s Country Manager, Mr. Sarshar Ali, expressed, “We are taking the art of photography to the next level with the launch of our outstanding cameras. These cameras have been superbly manufactured to give matchless performance and are capable of capturing even the minutest details of any scenario with utter perfection.” He further said that, “Our cameras are a product of ultimate expertise and they have been aptly equipped to capture lively moments and enable the users to live them all over again, every time they see the pictures.”

For camera shakes due to the mirror bounce, the mirror vibration control system in the camera model is redesigned. Apart from the normal model, Canon added an Arbitrary Release Time Lag Setting in the Mirror Lock Mode. This is a new feature included in the latest model. This setting gives the user new intervals of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, one and two seconds. By choosing one of these, the user gives the camera a certain amount of time for the vibration to dissipate before the image is clicked or the shutter is released. Fine detail is a new Picture Style included, which has three settings: Strength, Fineness and Threshold. These settings increase the sharpness of movies or images taken from the camera.

Stat of the art EOS 5DSR has an advanced AE system and a new auto white balance setting, which includes Ambience Priority and White Priority. This helps when shooting under tungsten light.

This model feature Intelligent Viewfinder II, which provides 100 percent field of view. It is also able to “display cropped shooting frames and superimpose a customizable selection of camera settings and data such as dual-mode electronic level display and grid, as well as exposure, white balance, metering, drive, image quality and AF modes.”

The camera has several other features such as dual card slots for CF and SD memory cards, creative time lapse functions for movie recording and a shutter durability rating up to 150,000 cycles.
