Champions One-Day Cup Set to Begin in Faisalabad on September 12

The highly anticipated Champions One-Day Cup, featuring the top 150 cricketers from across the country, is set to commence at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from September 12 to 29. The opening match will see the Wolves taking on the Panthers, kicking off a thrilling 50-over tournament that promises to showcase the best of Pakistan’s domestic talent.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced the names of the five Champion mentors who will guide the teams throughout the tournament. The names of the teams and their 15-player squads are expected to be unveiled soon, adding to the excitement surrounding the event.

The tournament will follow a single-league format, with all matches starting at 3:00 PM local time, except for the September 16 clash between Lions and Panthers, which will begin at 9:30 AM. This match has been scheduled in the morning to accommodate the live broadcast of the Pakistan Women’s T20I against South Africa Women.

The Iqbal Stadium, which last hosted a men’s 50-over domestic match in March 2022, will once again be the stage for high-stakes cricket, marking the homecoming of senior men’s competitive cricket to Faisalabad.
