An ICC delegation met with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad today to discuss the preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The meeting also included a detailed review of the security arrangements for the prestigious tournament.
The ICC delegation, comprising ICC Senior Manager Events Sarah Edgar, Champions Trophy Event Lead Aun Muhammad Zaidi, General Manager Cricket Wasim Khan, Security Manager David Musker, and Broadcast Consultant Mansoor Manj, expressed satisfaction with the preparations in Karachi and Rawalpindi. They also deemed the security plans in these cities, as well as in Islamabad, to be satisfactory.
Representing the Pakistan Cricket Board, Director International Cricket Usman Wahla, Director Security Col. (Retd) Khalid Mehmood, and Head of Marketing Salman Mesud were also in attendance. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi assured the ICC of world-class arrangements, stating that all stadium upgrades will be completed before the tournament, and that comprehensive security measures will be in place for all participating teams.
Hosting the ICC Champions Trophy is a great honor for Pakistan, and Naqvi emphasized that the country is working to ensure that teams play in a secure and peaceful environment. The upgraded stadiums will boast international-standard facilities to enhance the experience for both players and spectators, with the cricket-loving nation eager to support all teams during the mega event in February and March 2025.
