Coke Studio continues to captivate audiences with the release of the second song from Season 15, titled “2AM.” This soul-stirring track features the talented newcomers Star Shah and Zeeshan Ali, each bringing their unique musical prowess to the forefront.
Born Amir Shah from Okara in Punjab, Star Shah’s journey as an educator by day and a musician by night is deeply reflected in his music. “2AM” delves into themes of love, longing, and vulnerability, with Star Shah’s lovelorn lyrics resonating through the late-night mist. The song captures the essence of laying down defenses and offering oneself wholeheartedly to vulnerability, symbolized by the fateful hour of 2AM.
The atmospheric music of “2AM” is arranged and produced by Aksel Carlson & Thomas, and Coke Studio stalwart Xulfi, creating a mesmerizing auditory experience. Star Shah’s poignant rap adds a layer of fragility to the song, speaking of pain and purification amidst falsehood and pretense.
Director Awais Gohar’s narrative, complemented by Art Director Hashim Ali’s visuals, intricately weaves cultural motifs of endearment into the music video. From a husband braiding his wife’s hair to an elderly book-seller contemplating letting go, each frame captures the essence of human connection and introspection.
Responding to Star Shah’s lyrical lament is Zeeshan Ali, a classically trained composer and vocalist with roots tracing back to the spiritual rhythms of his upbringing.
