The drama’s return was announced by Wajahat Rauf, a prominent figure in Pakistani television and film production, via an Instagram post. According to Rauf, the Islamabad High Court has granted permission for the drama’s telecast.
Rauf explained that “Hadsa” narrates Taskeen’s journey from being a victim to emerging as a survivor, highlighting her unwavering struggle for justice.
The detailed verdict issued by the Supreme Court outlined that the drama can be aired, provided that the scenes depicting the rape are omitted. The court’s directive stipulated that only the objectionable portion should be excluded from the broadcast and suitably modified, while the entire play or drama should not face a ban on airing or rebroadcast.
The return of “Hadsa” to television screens has ignited a passionate debate across social media platforms. Many individuals have expressed their dissatisfaction with the court’s decision, asserting that the drama’s broadcast could inflict further pain upon the real-life victim.
Critics have accused the drama’s creators of prioritizing their project over the feelings of the survivor, labeling Hadiqa Kiani’s dramas as “controversial” and expressing disappointment with the court’s ruling.
However, opinions on social media are sharply divided, with some supporting the drama’s return and others vehemently opposing it. The decision has sparked a heated national discussion concerning justice, sensitivity, and artistic expression in Pakistan.
The debate surrounding “Hadsa” serves as a reminder of the complex and sensitive nature of artistic content that intersects with real-life trauma and emotions, highlighting the need for thoughtful consideration and dialogue on such matters.
