With the help of a heroic innings of Mukhtar Ahmed complimented by Ahmed Shehzad Pakistan equalised the national record of opening stand (Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt – 142 against Bangladesh in 2010) of 142 in T20, Pakistan managed to bag first T20i against Zimbabwe.
Pakistan won first game by 5 wickets when captain Shahid Afridi hit the winning stroke for four runs. Mukhtar Ahmed was declared man of the match for his briliant 84 runs for 45 balls. The hometown boy Ahmed Shehzad was the secon highest scorer for Pakistan he scored a solid 55 runs. Mohammad Sami who was making his comeback after three years took three wickets for 36 runs.
The next T20 will be played on sunday 24th May 2015.
