South African-born Namibian all-rounder David Wiese expressed gratitude for being a part of the Lahore Qalandars, the defending champions of the Pakistan Super League. Wiese credited the team for kick-starting his cricket career again, citing his selection in the replacement draft as a turning point.
Wiesewho has over 300 T20 appearances and has represented the Lahore Qalandars in 35 matches, scoring 478 runs and taking 27 wickets. He particularly highlighted his performance in PSL 7, where he defended 8 runs in 6 balls against Islamabad United.
Wiese revealed that before joining PSL, he struggled in cricket and wasn’t picked up by any other team. However, he expressed gratitude to the Lahore Qalandars for showing faith in his abilities by selecting him in the replacement draft.
The all-rounder mentioned that he is pleased to be part of the Qalandars’ family, adding that his strong performance in his first game gave him the confidence to continue playing well. Wiese stated that since joining the Qalandars, he has improved as a player and has been able to perform in different and challenging stages, leading to more tournament appearances and better performance for other teams.
