England Women Secure Victory Against Pakistan Women in First ODI

England Women clinched a 37-run victory over Pakistan Women in the first One Day International (ODI) of the three-match series, taking a 1-0 lead. This series is part of the ICC Women’s Championship.

Having won the T20I series 3-0, the hosts continued their dominant form in the ODI series.

Winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bowl first. England posted a total of 243 for 9 in their 50 overs. Alice Capsey top-scored with 44 runs, while Amy Jones contributed 37 runs. The duo added 67 runs for the fifth wicket. Pakistan bowlers managed to take the last five England wickets for just 58 runs.

Captain Nida Dar was the standout bowler for Pakistan, claiming 3 wickets for 56 runs. Aliya Riaz, Nashra Sandhu, and Um-e-Hani took two wickets each.

In response, Pakistan managed to score 206 for 9 in their 50 overs. Muneeba Ali was the top-scorer with 34 runs. Sadaf Shams added 28 runs, while Nida Dar and Najiha Alvi scored 26 runs each, with Alvi remaining not out.

Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers for England, taking 3 wickets for 26 runs.
