Fitrat makes a promising start with its first episode

7th Sky Entertainment’s latest drama serial Fitrat went on air last night with a lot hype and expectations attached to it. Since the drama’s teasers were released, our interest had peaked up regarding the serial, and we were waiting eagerly for it to hit the TV screens. The teasers as well as the presence of a talented cast and the names of producers Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi attached to it had already raised our expectations for the serial. So did Fitrat live up to our expectations? From the first episode, the answer is a yes since it made the kind of promising start we were looking forward to.

The first episode introduced us to the dynamics of the play and to the characters. We are introduced to two contrasting families; Faria’s family and Shahbaz’s family. Faria, played by Saboor Aly, is shown to be a greedy girl belonging to a middle-class family. She is secretly married to Shahbaz (played by Ali Abbas), who belongs to a rich family. Shahbaz has a younger brother Arbaz (played by Mirza Zain Baig) and a younger sister (Mariam Nafees). Both the brothers love their sister a lot and share a loving bond with her.

On the other hand, Faria also has a younger sister, Rafiya (Zubab Rana) and a younger brother, Haris. Both of them have a personality that is contrasting to their sister. They are dedicated to achieve their dreams and aspirations through hard work and despite all odds and difficulties in making their ends meet, they are dedicated towards their education. In contrast, their sister Faria believes in taking shortcuts. Their mother, played by Ayesha Gul, also has a personality that is similar to Faria and we are yet to find out more about her.

Overall, it was a nice opening episode that provided us with a decent introduction to the lead characters and their personalities. There are many subplots and tracks that are linked with each other in some way. This means that we are in for a lot of twists and turns during the course of the serial Fitrat.

Penned down by Nuzhat Saman and directed by Asad Jabal, Fitrat replaced Uraan, another hit serial by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi led 7th Sky Entertainment. After Uraan’s phenomenal success and appreciation, it seems that Fitrat will also keep us glued to the screen and will give us a major reason to tune to from Monday to Friday, at 9 PM on Geo Entertainment since it has all the ingredients to keep us hooked.
