“My educational journey laid the foundation for my career in the media, and I firmly believe that knowledge is power. Through learning, we gain the tools to bring about change,” says Fiza, reflecting on her academic beginnings.
Her career in the media industry kicked off in 2016 when she took her first step as a news anchor at City42 in Lahore. “Working in the media has been a rollercoaster ride, full of challenges and opportunities. I’ve learned to stand up for what’s right, pick fights when needed, and amplify the voices of women and children in Pakistan,” Fiza remarks. Not one to rest on her laurels, she quickly made her mark and also became a program anchor for the channel.
However, Fiza Riaz is not just a face on the screen. She is a multifaceted personality with a knack for film production. Her impressive portfolio includes various film, TV, and web show titles, such as “Spider” (2023), “Kahani” (2022), and “Sadpara the Mountaineer” (2021). “Behind the camera, as a film producer, I’ve had the privilege of telling powerful stories. My work is a reflection of my passion for storytelling and the desire to make an impact,” Fiza shares.
Her impressive career in journalism took her to various esteemed platforms, including City42, 92 News, Public News, and the renowned Dunya TV Network. At Dunya News, Fiza’s contributions went beyond the anchor’s desk; she served as a research reporter, and her investigative reports often featured in prime-time current affairs shows.
“As a broadcast journalist, I have a duty to inform and inspire. I see myself as a bridge between the issues that matter and the people who need to hear about them,” says Fiza, emphasizing her role in shaping public discourse.
After a successful three-year stint at Dunya News, Fiza embarked on a new chapter by joining Neo TV in Lahore. “My experience during the Zainab Murder Case was a turning point. It reinforced the importance of my role as a journalist. It’s not just about reporting; it’s about seeking justice and demanding change,” Fiza reflects. But her journey didn’t stop there, and she now shines as the host of the breakfast morning show at PNN, where she continues to inspire and inform a wide audience.
Fiza’s influence extends beyond the screen and the studio. Her travels to the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada open doors for her to make appearances on Pakistani community channels, where she sheds light on the current affairs of Pakistan and, most importantly, the state of women and children’s rights in the country.
“Traveling to the UK, USA, and Canada provides a unique opportunity to discuss the pressing issues facing Pakistan, especially the rights of women and children. We’re making strides, but there’s still much work to be done,” says Fiza, highlighting her commitment to advocating for change.
