While speaking to MeiaSpring Pk, Mahvish Tabassum said:

“I miss being part of electronic media to the bits. I must say there is no alternative to Electronic media, however, it is era of social and digital media but still the kind of recognition it gives is unprecedented. It is addictive, I would say.

“One thing I will never forget about Pakistani media is the kind of opportunities it gave me, I am what I am today because of Pakistani media industry. It gave me a name and recognition, I worked for top news channels in Pakistan. I do not think I would have done that all in any other country.”

About moving to Australia and life over there, Mahvish says that she took a break from her career and became a housewife in her new country and so far she is enjoying the change.

About joining Independent Urdu, Mahvish said:

“At this stage, it becomes irrelevant who approached first. Obviously, Independent Urdu is part of an international group, and I am delighted to be part of it. Here I am getting chance to work on the kind of assignments that I actually want to work on these days.”

Mahvish Tabassum says that the digital media is the future:

“We cannot say that electronic media will vanish or will die. It however is fading out and the gap is being filled by social media. There was a time when electronic media was hitting its peak and print media started to fade out. Print media did not die it is still there in different sizes and capacities though, same is with electronic media it will stay but digital media is the present and future in my opinion.”

Mahvish has been part of the Pakistani media industry for ten years. Her last channel was Bol News which she joined in 2019 as a news anchor. She also hosted various transmissions and shows for the channel including a month-long Ramzan transmission in 2021.

Before joining Bol News, Mahvish remained an integral part of ARY News for two years as a news anchor.

As per our sources, Mahvish’s decision of joining Bol is purely for the sake of career growth. During her career, Mahvish served at Dawn News and had a brief stint at 92 News as well. Her shot to fame was her time at Capital TV where she not only did news anchoring but also hosted shows with big names such as Murtaza Sulangi and Khshnood Ali Khan.
