Pakistan’s white-ball head coach, Gary Kirsten, held a crucial meeting with the mentors and head coaches of the Champions Cup on Tuesday. During the session, they discussed various aspects of the tournament, which features the country’s top cricketers.
High-performance specialist David Reid and Director HP and Champions Cup Nadeem Khan were also present at the session. Kirsten emphasized the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learning from each other’s experiences.
Kirsten conveyed a powerful message to the mentors and head coaches, saying, “Individuals can win matches, but teams win series and titles.” He advised them to leverage their exposure, stature, and experience to help players improve their game continuously.
Highlighting Pakistan’s talent pool, Kirsten noted that the country’s cricketers possess immense potential, needing only minor adjustments, finesse, and fine-tuning to excel.
Before departing, Kirsten plans to watch the entire Champions One-Day Cup. Pakistan’s upcoming white-ball schedule is packed, with T20I and ODI series against Australia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and New Zealand from November 2024 to April 2025.
Additionally, Pakistan will host a tri-nation ODI series involving New Zealand and South Africa before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in Pakistan in February/March. Post-Champions Trophy, Pakistan will tour New Zealand.
Overall, Pakistan is set to play a minimum of 18 ODIs and 9 T20Is between November 2024 and April 2025.
