Hanif Mohammad Trophy Third Round: Larkana, AJK, Sialkot, Quetta, Karachi Blues, and DM Jamali Clash

The third round of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy witnessed intense cricketing action, with several thrilling encounters leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Larkana vs. AJK (Mirpur Cricket Stadium)

Larkana began the day at 41 for four, but Mohsin Raza’s impressive knock of 72 runs, along with valuable contributions from Ishfaque Ahmed and Imtiaz Leghari, propelled them to a total of 192 runs. Rohaan Qadri’s four-wicket haul and the combined efforts of Faizan Saleem and Basit Ali helped AJK contain Larkana.

AJK had a solid start, losing just one wicket on the first ball of their innings. They managed to score 83 runs before the second wicket fell, finishing the day at 103 for the loss of four wickets.

Sialkot vs. Quetta (Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium)

Quetta, trailing by 418 runs at the start of the day, faced a challenging situation at 87 for three. Despite their efforts, Sialkot’s bowlers, particularly Shoaib Akhtar, who took four wickets, continued to trouble them. Quetta was eventually bowled out for 258, and they were forced to follow on.

In their second innings, Quetta had a better start with both openers scoring half-centuries. They ended the day at 127 for two, trailing by 120 runs.

Karachi Blues vs. DM Jamali (Rahim Yar Khan Cricket Stadium)

Karachi Blues started the day at 117 for three in their second innings. Saifullah Bangash’s unbeaten half-century, along with contributions from Hassan Mohsin and Kashif Ali, enabled them to declare at 261.

DM Jamali’s batting struggles continued in their second innings, with none of their batters, except Abid Ali Mengal, reaching double digits. Saqib, who claimed five wickets, and Ashiq Ali, with three wickets, were the tormentors in chief as DM Jamali were bowled out for just 89 runs. Karachi Blues secured a commanding victory by a margin of 313 runs.

Bahawalpur vs. Abbottabad (Multan Cricket Stadium)

Bahawalpur began the day at 42 for two in their second innings. Aun Shahzad and Mohammad Ammar forged a strong partnership of 188 runs. Although Aun lost his wicket, Ammar remained unbeaten with a century to his name. Bahawalpur concluded the day at 251 for the loss of four wickets.
