Hauls Galore on the Second Day of Hanif Mohammad Trophy’s Fifth Round

The second day of the fifth round of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy witnessed incredible performances, as several bowlers shone with remarkable five-wicket hauls, and batters showcased their prowess across various venues.

Larkana vs. Quetta at Mirpur Cricket Stadium:

Quetta commenced the day at Mirpur Cricket Stadium with an impressive 142-run score and no wickets lost. Bismillah Khan led the charge with a century (109), well-supported by Mohammad Ibrahim (82) and Hazrat Wali (72). Quetta posted a substantial total of 400 runs. Larkana’s Faraz Aziz and Amir Ali claimed three wickets each. At the close of play, Larkana had scored 37 runs for the loss of two wickets, with Najeebullah taking both wickets for Quetta.

Sialkot vs. Islamabad at Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium:

At Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium, Sialkot began the day at 233 for eight, reaching 251 before the last two wickets fell. Naveed Sarwar (69) and Mohammad Waleed (66) were the standout performers for Sialkot. Islamabad replied strongly, thanks to an impressive century by Hassan Nawaz (120) and an unbeaten 86 by Sarmad Bhatti. Sialkot’s Mohammad Shayan Sheikh starred with seven wickets, while Bilal Asif secured two wickets.

Hyderabad vs. Abbottabad at Multan Cricket Stadium:

Abbottabad started the day at Multan Cricket Stadium from 159 runs for the loss of five wickets. They reached 269, led by Ahmed Khan’s half-century (74) and Khalid Usman’s valuable contribution (49). Jawad Ali was the star of the show, claiming a spectacular six-wicket haul. In the second batting innings, Hyderabad posted 130 runs for the loss of two wickets. Haris Khan (68 not out) and Mohammad Suleman (37 not out) guided them through. Yasir Shah took both wickets for Abbottabad.

Bahawalpur vs. Karachi Blues at Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex Rahim Yar Khan:

In Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur began the day at 110 for two. Aun Shahzad (62) was their top scorer, with Mohammad Ammar contributing 39 runs. Bahawalpur managed to post 192 runs before being bowled out, with Ashiq Ali taking five wickets and Saqib securing three for Karachi Blues. Karachi Blues improved in their second innings, reaching 213 runs. Saifullah Bangash (56) and Akbar ur Rehman (55) led the way. Gulfam Aziz took five wickets out of the eight that fell in the innings.
