HEC Crushes SNGPL, Rohail Nazir’s Century Puts KRL in Command

The sixth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I saw a dominant performance from Higher Education Commission (HEC), who sealed a commanding 160-run victory over Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) at UBL Sports Complex, Karachi. Elsewhere, Rohail Nazir’s authoritative century gave Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) a vital first-innings lead over Ghani Glass, while WAPDA remained in the hunt for an enthralling chase against PTV.

HEC Clinches Convincing Win Over SNGPL

Set a daunting target of 359, SNGPL crumbled under the weight of disciplined bowling, folding for 198 in 59 overs. Haseebullah fought a lone battle with a gritty 52, while Saifullah Bangash remained unbeaten on 49. However, Waseem Akram Jnr (4-41) proved unplayable, running through the middle order and sealing an emphatic win for HEC.

Earlier, Mohammad Mohsin Khan’s superb 105 had propelled HEC to 292 in their second innings, setting up an imposing lead. Despite Mohammad Salman’s seven-wicket haul (7-51) for SNGPL, the target proved insurmountable.

Rohail Nazir’s Ton Keeps KRL Ahead

At KCCA Stadium, Rohail Nazir was the standout performer for KRL, crafting a fluent 134 to hand his team a crucial 93-run first-innings lead over Ghani Glass. Mohammad Rameez Jnr toiled hard for his five-wicket haul but found little support as KRL surged to 499.

Ghani Glass showed resilience in their second innings, reaching 127 for two at stumps, with Mohsin Riaz anchoring the chase on 66 not out. Their lead, though slender at 34 runs, keeps the contest finely balanced heading into the final day.

SBP Eyes Victory as Eshaal Associates Stumble

At the State Bank Sports Complex, SBP tightened their grip on the contest, declaring their second innings at 221 for three, setting Eshaal Associates a formidable 362-run target. Ali Shan’s unbeaten 82 added impetus to SBP’s charge.

Eshaal Associates had a shaky start to their chase, struggling at 20 for two at stumps, with a mountain to climb on the final day.

WAPDA’s Chase Keeps Thriller Alive Against PTV

The clash at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy Ground saw WAPDA inch closer to a gripping chase of 354 against PTV. Mohammad Arif’s unbeaten century (101 off 153 balls) kept WAPDA’s hopes alive as they reached 180 for three at stumps.

Earlier, PTV’s second innings collapse for just 112—courtesy of Naqeebullah’s five-wicket haul (5-30)—swung the match wide open. The final day promises an exciting finish as WAPDA chases 174 more for victory.

With thrilling battles set up across venues, the final day of the sixth round promises high stakes and high drama.
