Out of everyone in the media industry, there’s one man who stands out the most when it comes to incredible achievements throughout his career, and that man is Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, better known as HSY. If you’ve been following his journey as he takes on so many endeavors, you’ll know what we’re talking about when we say he knows how to make an impression no matter what he does. However, what has really come to our attention these days is his exceptional ability to act, despite being a relative newcomer in the field. So let’s go over his previous works then shall we?
In 2021, exciting news broke for HSY fans as he was said to play a character on screen that was completely unlike himself. An orthodox bother with strict family values who did not budge away from his beliefs while seeing the world in black and white, ‘Akram’s personality spoke volumes through the screen. Playing a pivotal role alongside Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawar, the love story Pehli Si Mohabbat was HSY’s first ever appearance as an actor on screen and people couldn’t get over how amazing his performance was! The way he completely submerged himself into that role was mesmerizing to watch. His impeccable dialogue delivery stunned audiences as the character was quite intense and demanded the attention of everyone across the board. HSY’s eye for detail was definitely a part of this development as initially Akram was seen as an angry brute who would stop at nothing to get his way but towards the end, he moved towards being a remorseful and kind man. His dedication was evident as the actor also admitted to taking Urdu lessons just to perfect his speech for this role. He also started wearing shalwar kameez at all times in order to fully switch on everyone’s imagination, and he gained around 25lbs just because he thought it would be more interesting as he depicted the character. If that’s not dedication we don’t know what is!
HSY’s debut film Ishrat Made In China began shooting in 2019 but was released in 2022 due to the global pandemic. In the motion picture, the superstar definitely gave the performance of a lifetime and was arguably one of the best villains on-screen in theatre this year in terms of Pakistani productions. The director of the film, Mohib Mirza himself called HSY because he thought the role of the villain Mangshi would be perfect for him and it certainly was! HSY performed dance numbers, sunk into his character seamlessly, and was an absolute show-stopper every turn of the way. With his own theme song, intense music, and all-black clothing, some would say that HSY was the best part of the film. Since he was cast in this role before PSM, the superstar admitted to losing weight, going through vigorous training, and doing his own stunts for the role. The icon also created all the clothing for his character as well just to fully be one with his character. His efforts certainly came to fruition as people couldn’t get over his performance as nefarious Master Mangshi.
Now, HSY is all set to impress once again in his upcoming telefilm alongside the ace actress and Ms. Marvel star, Mehwish Hayat. We don’t know much about the storyline of the film but we can tell that the chemistry between these awesome A-listers is sure to set our screens on fire! We loved seeing HSY’s acting performances and can’t wait to see his upcoming project, releasing this July 2022!
