News Anchor turned morning show host, Nabeeha Ejaz is all set to return to the TV screen and her show this week. Nabeeha, the host of Neo Pakistan on Neo TV was on break from the show since May this year and now after a gap of nearly 45 days, she is going to be back on screen.
While talking to MediaSpringPK about her return Nabeeha hinted her excitement, she said:
“I find joy in everything which I choose to do. Obviously, I feel excited to be back on screen after long maternity leave. I missed interacting with the audience of Neo Pakistan and team Neo Pakistan.
“I have a gut feeling that my team is planning something special to welcome me, let’s wait till Monday to see how it is going to be and don’t forget to tune in Neo News,” said the morning show host.
Nabeeha was on her maternity leave and now when is getting back at work she is hoping to deal with the task of creating work-life balance as a working mom positively. Nabeeha believes that taking time out for ordinary activities, such as going to the gym or having a weekend out with friends, is difficult for working mothers due to a lack of available free time, she said, “Even if I find time, I am sometimes too tired, and the only aim in life seems to extract more time for my newborn. So yes it is very challenging but one has to deal with it positively.”
Nabeeha Ejaz has been associated with media industry for nearly a decade and has been part of news anchoring teams of top channels such as Dunya News, Geo News, 92 News HD, and now she is associated with Neo TV since 2017. Nabeeha has the experience of hosting a variety of TV shows such as political satire show Butt-Tameezian (Dunya News), she was also the first host of 92 News HD’s flagship current affairs analysis show Muqabil in 2016.
Neo Pakistan is not the first-morning show hosting experience of the TV anchor as she had a stint of stand-in host of Doodh Patti Aur Khabar on Geo Tez back in 2014-15. Earlier this year, Nabeeha took over the hosting of Neo TV’s morning show, Neo Pakistan. Talking about the experience with Neo Pakistan Nabeeha said:
“Neo Pakistan is one of my best experiences so far. It’s a huge responsibility to entertain people to inform people and to educate people.”
Hosting a morning show is a challenging task considering the cut-throat competition in that time slot, Nabeeha feels that at times even hosts have to go against their own opinion, she said, “there is this pressure to win the rating race. Often, as hosts, we end up negating our own personalities.” Further commenting on morning shows in Pakistan and the role of media she added:
“Media is an extremely powerful medium and it can actually dictate to the public what it wants. Most of the shows that are allowed on to our channels every morning are sickening.”
During the absence of Nabeeha, another dynamic news anchor and TV presenter Ainee Khan took the role of hosting Neo Pakistan, about Ainee and her hosting Neo Pakistan, Nabeeha said, “Ainee is very dear to me. She is an amazing person I must say that she did a tremendous job in my absence.”
Talking about her motherhood experience Nabeeha said that it has taught her to be a better person, she said:
“Being a mother has been, without a doubt, my greatest source of achievement, pride and inspiration. Motherhood has taught me about unconditional love, reinforced the importance of giving back and taught me how to be a better person.”
Being a mother is a full-time job itself and being a working mom comes with the challenge of creating a balance, Nabeeha Ejaz shared a pro tip for that:
“By managing time wisely, you can fit in valuable ‘me’ time regularly. Remember to eat well and get enough rest—simple things that even the smartest moms neglect.”
