Syeda Iqra Bukhari who has been a news anchor for many years and hosted serious news based shows has taken over the role of a morning show at 92 NEWS.
Iqra now hosts Subh Savaray Pakistan, the morning show of Pakistan’s first HD news channel, 92 news HD plus.
Talking to MediaSpringPk, Iqra said that she sees this opportunity as a blessing:
“I think I am very lucky, in a short span of time I got many opportunities. Thanks to Almighty Allah for that. Besides being lucky I firmly believe I am doing justice to your work and that is what i always strive for. I am grateful to the management of 92 NEWS for trusting in me and giving me this opportunity as a reward to my handwork and loyalty.”
Subh Savaray Pakistan has established its place in the morning show slot and has a pretty much clear format. Iqra believes that morning shows of such format are good for the current content hungry time. She said:
“This is more of an infotainment show being slightly on newsy side. Our viewers get not only entertainment but also information. This makes such shows a good watch in this time slot.”
Iqra has replaced the ace TV presenter of 92 NEWS, Sarwat Valim in the show who used to solo host the show previously. While talking about if filling in Sarwat’s space is challenging, Iqra said:
“I don’t think it is a challenge or it is taking over her role. Sarwat has her own personality and she is amazing at what she has done so far. I feel honored to take up the role that she has played so well and I will put in my best to connect with the viewers just as Sarwat does.”
Syeda Iqra Bukhari did her masters in communication studies from the University of Punjab. On 1 January 2015, she started her career with Neo TV, she calls it her mother organization. In 2017, Iqra joined 7 News as a news anchor. On 19 January 2018 Iqra moved to 92 NEWS HD and is part of the channel since.
At 92 News Iqra Bukhari has not only been a face of news cast team bur also did sports program, hosted UK based morning show and various virtual reality overlays. She has also hosted crime show, Haqeeqat on 92 News HD.
