Pakistan’s One-Day International (ODI) squad for the last three matches against New Zealand in Karachi will see a change, as Iftikhar Ahmed replaces Haris Sohail due to a shoulder injury. The middle-order batter sustained the injury during a fielding drill on the eve of the first ODI, landing awkwardly and injuring his left shoulder.
Iftikhar Ahmed, the 31-year-old all-rounder, will now join the squad in Karachi. Ahmed has previously represented Pakistan in all formats, and his inclusion is expected to add depth to the middle order of Pakistan’s batting lineup.
The Pakistan team is set to fly to Karachi on Sunday for the remaining matches of the series, with the first two matches having already been played.
The change in the squad due to Sohail’s injury is certainly a blow for the Pakistan team, but the addition of Ahmed will no doubt strengthen their batting order as they look to come out on top in the remaining games of the series.
