Cricket fans in Zimbabwe are in for a treat as the highly anticipated Zim Afro T10, the first-ever T10 tournament in Africa, kicks off at the Harare Sports Club. Organized by T Ten Global Sports in collaboration with Zimbabwe Cricket, the inaugural edition of the Zim Afro T10 will witness five exciting teams battling it out for glory in Harare from 20th July to 29th July.
The participating teams include Harare Hurricanes, Bulawayo Braves, Durban Qalandars, Cape Town Samp Army, and Johannesburg Buffaloes. With a star-studded lineup featuring cricketing legends and exciting young talents, the tournament promises to deliver thrilling encounters throughout its duration.
The opening clash between Harare Hurricanes, led by the dynamic Eoin Morgan, and Bulawayo Braves, led by the in-form Sikandar Raza, will set the tone for the exhilarating cricket extravaganza. The tournament will be a mix of top-notch cricketing action and vibrant entertainment, commencing with a glittering opening ceremony on 20th July, followed by the first match at 7 pm local time.
The Zim Afro T10 marks a significant milestone in the T10’s journey to global expansion. While the format has been successfully hosted in Abu Dhabi for several years, this tournament opens the doors for T10 cricket in various regions worldwide. Players like Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Stuart Binny, Parthiv Patel, Mohammad Hafeez, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Amir, Sean Williams, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Sheldon Cottrell, Tymal Mills, and Thisara Perera will add star power to the tournament and ensure high-octane cricketing action.
