Humaira Asghar Ali is one of the most promising names of our glamour industry. She has been the headlining model fro many brands, and designers. The stunning lady is quite friendly and down to earth we realised this side of Humaira when we interviewed her when she was in Lahore for an assignment.
Here is what supermodel Humaira Asghar Ali said during the interview
- Tell us something about you, your educational background and were you always interested in modeling?
Humaira: My full name is Humaira Asghar Ali, and I am from Lahore. As far as my formal training and educational background is concerned I am painter, designer, sculptor, stern actor, and mime dance performer.
Well it can be said that it was always part of the plan, as I was doing performing arts with visual arts since 2002 during my FA and with the time modeling became my interest too. I have done my BFA, MFA from NCA, and did my M.Phil from Fine-arts Punjab University’s CAD (College of Art & Design). Its blessing of God I got best visual & performing arts mentors during my educational time period. They appreciated me a lot, this thing still motivates me to move on and to give my best.
- Apart from modeling do you have interest in other forms of arts too?
Humaira: I am pretty much interested acting. Apart from that I simply love to express my innermost expressions and thoughts as actor, mime dancer, performer, and art direction. I do paintings, designs & sculptures also.
- When did you realize that a career as a performing artist was for you?
Humaira: I have got artistic nature and my formal training & education from well reputed institutions. I was doing my bachelor’s degree when I realized that performing arts is my real passion.
- Tell us something about your expedition of acting, what do you enjoy more acting or modeling, which one is more fun?
Humaira: For me modeling is quite fun because it takes less time and one can do experimental work anytime, at any moment, just in seconds or in one click. It is easy to make money also, I love my modeling job but I love acting also. Acting is my life and I believe its best possible way to express my feelings, expression & thoughts by improvising any character.
I have done serious theater for years mostly in Lahore. However, I am planning to start again as I feel myself incomplete without acting.
- What it was like walking on the ramp for the first time? Do you remember your first walk on the ramp?
Humaira: My first walk was at a big fashion show for DAMAS by Catwalk events & production. I was very excited and confident at that time. I feel so blessed to have Frieha Altaf as my modeling mentor right in the beginning of my modeling career. She motivate me and built my confidence by guiding me in right direction, still she mentors me and guides me whenever we meet.
- Any favorite shoot or modeling campaign which you really enjoyed doing?
Humaira: I have done many wonderful shoots with finest designers, design houses, brands, labels etc. but my most favourite shoot was for Porsche cars with Kamiyar Rokhni designer for Hello Pakistan Fashion Magazine. It took place in Lahore polo ground with Pakistan’s legendary polo players and their three generations, photography of that shoot was done by Maram & Aabroo.
- Who is your muse, your source of inspiration?
Humaira: Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Quid e Azam, Allama iqbal, Stephen Hawking, Amitabh Bachan and few more shinning stars of human success history!
- How do you define your personal style?
Humaira: Captivating, Sensual, and Classy
- Who is your favourite model both local and international?
Humaira: Tyra Banks, Irina Shayk, Cara Delevingne, Iraj Manzoor, and Aaminah Haq
- Ever thought about doing films and movies? Which one is your favourite film by the way?
Humaira: Essentially, I am born actor Insha’Allah soon I will be doing TV dramas and movies.
I love to watch art movies and classics also. My favourite movies are countless but I’m very choosy & selective when comes to watch movies.
- Tell us something about yourself that no one probably knows.
Humaira: I have got spiritual nature & personality, can’t be like materialistic. By nature I’m artistic & very sensitive but very strong by mind.
- What’s your vital beauty trick?
Humaira: I drink lot of fresh water, eat just fruits & vegetables (I’m vegetarian) , for face & skin care stay away from all type of artificial things like beauty products and chemicals filled goods I only use herbal mud mask & rose water to take care of my skin.
- How challenging it is to make name in fashion industry of Pakistan? Would you like to advice anything to youngsters who want to become model?
Humaira: To make your name in fashion industry takes a lot of hard work and attention. It is your full time job, for new comers I would like to say that they must be very devoted, dedicated, passionate, and hardworking. Patience and practice should be in your attitude if you want to gain endures success in this field!
- What can we expect from Humaira in future?
Humaira: Best model, best actor, best singer, best director, in short best artist!
- What is your ultimate motto of life?
Humaira: منزل کی جستجو میں کیوں پھر ریا ہے راہی؟
اتنا عظیم ہو جا کہ منزل خود تجھے پکڑے
