“Ishqiya” First Episode in review: Ramsha Khan brings her A Game

Ramsha Khan’s latest drama Ishqiya has just aired its first episode, and from the looks of her performance in it, we know Ishqiya is going to be another one of Ramsha Khan’s best.

Ishqiya stars Feroze Khan as Hamza, Ramsha Khan as Hamna, and Hania Amir as Roomi. The drama is about love, trust, revenge, and betrayal. It has a lot going on, but the story revolves around Hamza and Hamna, who are madly in love with each other, but destiny takes them on different journeys. The drama is written by Mohsin Ali Shah and directed by Badar Mehmood with a stellar cast of Gohar Rasheed, Shabbir Jan, Khalid Anum, Seemi Pasha, Maha Hasan, Kinza Malik, Zahid Qureshi, and Nabeela Haq.

The first episode gave a thorough introduction to all the characters of the drama, and it also pretty much summed up the overall plot of the show. Hamza and Hamna are college students who love each other. Hamna is a very decent, thoughtful, and caring girl, while Hamza is extremely possessive of what he likes and what he thinks belongs to him. Hamna’s parents are against the modern traditions of love marriage and have decided to give away Hamna to their friend’s son.

Ramsha Khan plays the character of Hamna with such perfection that at times her character’s dilemma in the drama made us feel uncomfortable.

Her character starts as a joyful charming girl who loves playing basketball, and she loves winning against Hamza’s team. But this joyful character quickly transforms into a perplexed girl who is troubled between choosing Hamza’s love or her father’s trust in her.

Hamna is a character that has to go through several different phases in the drama. She gets to be childish when she is around Hamza, but she has to be mature around Roomi (younger sister). Ramsha Khan plays this transformation flawlessly, progressing into her character with dominance. She also shows a different kind of energy to portray the seriousness of the situation, which makes her character more believable to watch. She is doing remarkably well in Ishqiya, which means the drama is going to be a legit hit as it proceeds ahead.

Ramsha Khan is making her way in Pakistan’s entertainment industry as the girl who stepped in the industry, wowed everyone with her performance, and quickly became the national crush within a short span of time.

She started her career in 2016 with a supporting role in drama Who Ek Pal where she played as Hina. She landed the lead role in Tumhari Marium within a year of her debut, and since then, she has performed flawlessly in many dramas. She is known for playing as Mariam in Kaisa Hai Naseeban, where she brought a complicated role to life brilliantly.
