Islamabad Secures Dominant Victory Over Hyderabad in Hanif Mohammad Trophy Super-Four Stage

In a gripping contest during the final day of round two in the Super-Four stage of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy 2023-24, Hyderabad was confronted with a formidable task of chasing down a colossal total of 350 runs at the Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex in Rahim Yar Khan. However, their efforts fell short as they were bowled out for 184 runs, conceding a significant victory to Islamabad with a commanding margin of 164 runs. On the preceding day, Quetta had notched a comprehensive six-wicket triumph over Abbottabad at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Islamabad v Hyderabad at Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex, Rahim Yar Khan:

At the start of the day, Islamabad declared their innings without adding any runs to their overnight total of 235 for seven in 54 overs. They presented Hyderabad with the challenging task of chasing 350 runs in the final innings at the Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex in Rahim Yar Khan.

In the final innings, Hyderabad struggled to build momentum and was eventually dismissed for a total of 184 runs. Haris Khan emerged as the standout performer for Hyderabad, showcasing immense determination with a resilient knock of 83 runs off 264 balls, featuring six boundaries and three sixes. Mohammad Suleman was the second-highest scorer for Hyderabad, contributing 34 runs from 89 balls, including six boundaries. Islamabad’s Farmanullah Khan impressed with a four-wicket haul, while Mohammad Nadeem, Mohammad Musa, and Shayan Shaikh each bagged two wickets, collectively restricting Hyderabad to a total that fell short by 164 runs.

Quetta v Abbottabad:

  • Quetta defeated Abbottabad by six wickets.
  • Abbottabad posted 243 runs in 75.3 overs in their first innings, with Anees Azeem Khan top-scoring with 99 runs and Ahmed Khan contributing 42 runs. Jalat Khan and Gohar Faiz shared the bowling honors for Quetta.
