Karachi witnessed an unmatched gathering of digital enthusiasts at Movenpick Hotel on 24-25 August 2016. Jazz DIGIMARK 2016 congregated influencers from around Asia for fulfilling the vision of “DIGITAL PAKISTAN”. Despite being held on weekdays the two days’ conference and the expo went house full and was successful in pulling off an applaudable number of attendees.
The speaker lineup included experts from Facebook, Google, GSMA, Daraz Group, Mobilink, Easy Paisa, PTCL, Engro Corporation, Witribe, Careem, Telenor, Pakwheels, Finja, Learing Minds Group , SkillCity, Finca Microfinance Bank, Jang Group, Confiz, Homeshopping, MHL Global, Nestio and Torque.
The session of Ms. Aneeqa Afzal, Vice President Mobile Financial Services and Head of Digital, Mobilink revolved around the economic impact of next-generation mobile services. She said that the innovative and better than ever before digital services are leading us to a more connected and interlinked ecosystem.
Chief Commercial Officer, PTCL, Mr. Adnan Shahid, engaged the audience on ” Importance of Connectivity: Live or Let Die”. It’s all about high speed because internet has become a way of life, everything is connected.
Omar Moeen Malik, Head of Strategy, Payment and Product Development, Easy Paisa shared his views about the interoperability of Digital Financial Services. He discussed how the adoptability of online transactions has increased in Pakistan paving way for new and improved financial services.
Mr. Khurram Jamali, Pakistan Country Head, Google shared Google’s perspective regarding the “Age of Machine Learning”. He was specially excited to discuss what the future enfolds for Pakistan and the world as a whole. He also shared the upcoming plans of Google for supporting “DIGITAL PAKISTAN”.
Mr. Nakul Patel, Facebook at Work, Growth Asia Pacific, Facebook joined JazzDigimark all the way from Singapore and spoke about “Designing the digital workplace: Connectivity, Communication and Collaboration”, he also mentioned that the “Facebook at work” application is nurtured with the team of Mobilink Pakistan. His session was one of the most interactive and thought provoking and gathered the appreciation of all the attendees.
From Daraz, Co-CEO, Dr. Jonathan Doerr spoke about the impact of Apps in Businesses Especially E-commerce. His knowledge in the field was an added attraction for the event. Jonathan was positive about the potential that Pakistani market holds and sees a vivid and illuminated future in the e-commerce landscape.
The idea is to provide simple, secure and convenient access to consumers. The best thing about Pakistan is that this country has a great potential in digital, comparatively to the rest of the developing or underdeveloped nations. Mr. Jaikishan Rajaraman, Head of Technology Asia Pacific Region, GSMA talked about Digital Identity and Death of Passwords.
Raza Saeed, CEO Pakwheels spoke on Technology & Untapped Pakistani Businesses where he shared how startups are taking place of traditional businesses globally and Pakistan. He gave examples of retail and advertising industry of Pakistan that they should take technology serious to be in business in the coming years.
