Green Entertainment’s Jeevan Nagar continues to impress. Just three episodes down, the drama serial sets the right pace and showcases the various facets of life to perfection. Written by Awais Ahmed and directed by the magician Kashif Nisar, Jeevan Nagar is a beautiful amalgamation of human emotions, satire and humor.
Episode 3 gives us more insight into Guru Lali’s (Sohail Ahmed) life. Neelo (Saquib Sameer) isn’t happy to see Guru endorsing Payal as her new companion. She is so envious of her that during a dance performance, Neelo deliberately puts her foot forward to harm Payal. The former is insecure that Guru Lali might declare her the next caretaker of the den.
Men of Jeevan Nagar continue to woo Munni (Rabia Butt). Things get out of place when the mobile shop guy Rafiq directly proposes Munni. She gives him a befitting reply and warns her that she is well-versed in kickboxing. Rafiq couldn’t bare this insult and spread fake rumor about Munni to Billa (Saquib Sameer). Babbar Shah isn’t pleased to see this development and calls her to his place to which Munni refuses.
Bilqees (Tahira Imam) and Zulekha (Kinza Malik) are gym beginners and feel the pain due to muscle achiness. Resultantly Bilqees couldn’t prepare breakfast; this leads to Bara Karobari (Noor-ul-Hassan) and Shabaan (Kashif Mehmmod) indulging in an argument. Nida (Aamna Malick) is in a state of shock when her cousin Faizan proposes to her.
The plot of Jeevan Nagar has sufficient entertainment to entice viewers. Kashif Nisar direction is neat. Despite the various subplots, the execution is uncomplicated. Talking of performances, Sohail Ahmed as Guru Laali and Babbar Shah is a double treat to savor. His act is simply flawless. Rabia Butt is the surprise package of Jeevan Nagar. She carries her part with rare subtlety. We are excited to watch her character unravel in the upcoming episodes. Her act will surely be a talking point.
Summing it up, Jeevan Nagar is a powerful saga that reflects the harsh realities of society. The hard-hitting narrative and bravura performances make Jeevan Nagar a compelling watch.
