The Pakistan Fashion Design Council in collaboration with Sunsilk presented the second day of the ninth PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week. Indeed the 9th PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week marks the fourteenth fashion week platform initiated by the Pakistan Fashion Design Council [with eight weeks of prêt-à-porter and five of bridal fashion] and is a direct manifestation of the Council’s commitment to sustainability and discipline within the business of fashion and the facilitation of Pakistan’s retail industry. Indeed #PSFW16 endeavours to define and present trends for 2016, focusing specifically on fashion for the regions’ long hot summer months. Day-2 featured prét-a-porter shows by Nomi Ansari, Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio, Sania Maskatiya, MAHGUL, Nickie Nina and Karma Pink.
The success of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week continues to prompt private sector associates to grow in their engagement of the platform to launch new products, marketing campaigns and promotional activities sharing a common vision with the PFDC to develop and promote Pakistan’s fashion industry. The prêt-à-porter shows on Day-2 were opened by designer Nomi Ansari who showcased his luxury prét collection titled “Joyride” at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016. The collection takes inspiration from the present, a vibrant reflection of what is happening around us in the moment and celebrates the vibrancy that comes with today’s fast paced environment. The silhouettes were structured and defined using the entire colour palette with a generous use of flashy tints and bright hues. The base is silken and the fabrics used were luxurious satins, chiffons and georgettes with prints of different fabric types and feels where all the prints were created in house which are an amalgamation of pop art and high fashion. For men, Nomi Ansari showcased a line of funky jackets, vests and pants with intricate details and motifs of pop art elements with lots of accessories including some funky shoes. Renowned television and music personality Junaid Khan walked the ramp as the brand’s celebrity showstopper.
