Kamran Ghulam and Sahibzada Farhan score centuries for Peshawar on third day of fifth round of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy

Lahore Whites vs. Peshawar:

Peshawar showed their mettle on the third day of play as they resumed their innings at 76 for one against Lahore Whites at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Skipper Sahibzada Farhan played a pivotal knock, scoring 171 runs from 311 balls, complemented by Kamran Ghulam’s century (112 runs from 249 balls). This pair led Peshawar to a total of 330 runs, and they lost just one wicket on the day. Peshawar ended the day at 330 for two after 102 overs, with the two centurions, Sahibzada and Kamran, still standing strong.

Multan vs. Karachi Whites:

At Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, Multan resumed their innings from 169 for three. The day saw impressive performances from Sharoon Siraj (83), Mohammad Imran (75), Hamayun Altaf (73), and Imran Rafiq (70) as Multan reached 405 runs after batting for 134 overs. Aaliyan Mehmood was the star with four wickets. Karachi Whites were left with the daunting task of chasing 432 runs in the final innings, managing to score 19 runs in seven overs.

Rawalpindi vs. Lahore Blues:

At Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi was on the receiving end of a follow-on but fought back strongly. Notable contributions from Hassan Raza (50) and an unbeaten century by Taimoor Khan (137 not out) steered Rawalpindi to a total of 302 runs, with eight wickets falling in the process. They finished the day at 40 for no loss.

FATA vs. Faisalabad:

In the contest at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Faisalabad’s Irfan Khan Niazi played an unbeaten knock of 68 runs, guiding his team to a total of 220. FATA was then tasked with chasing 308 in the final innings, managing to score 156 runs but losing eight wickets in the process. Mohammad Sarwar Afridi (59) and Samiullah (48) were the prominent contributors.
