Karachi Whites v Islamabad

Karachi Whites thrashed Islamabad by 44 runs in the second match of the day in the ongoing Cool and Cool Presents Jazz T20 Cup 2016-17 here at the Pandi Stadium on Friday.

Batting first Karachi Whites amassed 182 runs for the loss of just two wickets. Ahsan Adil opening for Karachi scored a match winning 85. though he lost his partner Zain Abbad 10 early but he found a good partner in Asad Shafiq who remained not out at 73 and both the batsmen scored 128 runs for the second wicket. Asad in his innings had 11 boundaries with one six as he faced 46 balls while Haroon remained not out at five. Juniad Khan and Abdur Rehman were the bowlers who shared the two wickets that Karachi lost in its innings.
Defending the total, Karachi did not allow Islamabad batsmen play freely and started their misery right from the start. Tabish Khan grabbed their openers Raheel Majeed and Imamul Haq’s wickets. Umer Kiyani was run out and with that Islamabad’s hopes of achieving something from the match also dashed to some extent. Adil Amin and Naeem Anjum score 22 runs each but a 44 runs innings from Shehzad Azam who remained not out came too late to raise any hope and a 13 runs contribution from Rehman also was not enough for his team to avoid a defeat.
Tabish Khan and Faraz Ahmed took two wickets while Mir Hamza, Azam Hussain and Akbar-ur-Rehman had one wicket each.
