Komal Khan Leads Conquerors to National Women’s U19 Title with Dominant Eight-Wicket Victory Over Strikers

The Conquerors, led by Komal Khan, capped off an unbeaten campaign in the National Women’s U19 Championship with a resounding eight-wicket victory over the Strikers in the final at LCCA Ground, Lahore. Chasing a modest target of 56, the Conquerors reached their goal in just 8.4 overs, with skipper Komal anchoring the innings with a brisk 33* off 22 balls, which included five boundaries.

The Strikers, who opted to bat first, struggled against the Conquerors’ disciplined bowling attack and could only muster 55-9 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Zoofishan Ayyaz was the top scorer with 22 off 30 balls, while Raahima Syed contributed 12 off 28 balls. Despite their 31-run partnership, the Strikers’ batting collapsed after being reduced to 9-3, eventually losing wickets regularly from 41-5 to 55-9.

The Conquerors’ bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Laiba Nasir earning the Player of the Match title after taking 3-7 in her four overs. Minahil Javaid, who finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 15 scalps, also claimed 3-16, while Quratulain added two wickets to her tally.

In reply, Komal Khan showcased her skill and composure, adding an unbeaten 25-run partnership with Areesha Ansari (11*) to secure the title. Komal’s exceptional tournament performance earned her both the Best Batter and Best Wicket-Keeper awards, having scored 236 runs at a strike rate of 128.26 and recording eight dismissals.

The Conquerors’ commanding win underscored their dominance throughout the 21-match tournament, securing the National Women’s U19 title without a single loss.
