Lahore Blues Dominate with Three Centuries as Karachi Blues, Islamabad Cruise to Victories

The second day of the fourth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2024-25 showcased thrilling action across venues, highlighted by Lahore Blues’ commanding batting display, Test pacer Musa Khan’s demolition job, and Karachi Blues’ dominant victory over Dera Murad Jamali.

Lahore Blues’ Batting Blitz

At Gohati Cricket Stadium, Swabi, Lahore Blues produced a batting masterclass against Sialkot. Resuming from their overnight score of 142-2, the Blues declared at a massive 439-7 in 100.1 overs. Mohammad Saleem (117), Umar Siddiq (115), and Qasim Akram (101 not out) struck brilliant centuries, capitalizing on a flat pitch. The trio punished Sialkot’s bowlers, particularly Mohammad Ali (4-110) and Awais Ali (2-88). Bad light cut short play after just 65.5 overs, leaving Sialkot with a daunting task on day three.

Karachi Blues Trounce DM Jamali

At Mirpur Cricket Stadium, Karachi Blues registered their second win, crushing Dera Murad Jamali by an innings and 56 runs. After adding just 13 runs to their overnight total of 144-8, Karachi Blues secured a 107-run first-innings lead. Mohammad Hamza starred with a match-winning spell, taking 10 wickets in the game, including 7-20 in DM Jamali’s first innings. DM Jamali were bundled out for 51 in their second innings in just 19.5 overs, as Hamza (3-14), Tabish Khan (2-18), and Aftab Khan (3-11) ran riot.

Musa Khan Wrecks Hyderabad

In Islamabad, Musa Khan delivered a devastating spell to dismantle Hyderabad’s batting line-up, claiming 7-28 in their second innings at the Diamond Cricket Ground. Hyderabad collapsed to 99 all out, losing by an innings and two runs. Islamabad, who had earlier gained a slender 101-run lead, had contributions from Rizwan Ali (48) and Arsal Sheikh (43 not out).

    Peshawar’s Mohammad Amir Khan (6-98) restricted Multan to 292 after their overnight 120-2. In reply, Peshawar were 70-4, trailing by 222 runs.

    Lahore Whites took control, leading by 53 runs after their first innings and reducing Abbottabad to 125-8 in their second innings. Ubaid Shah (3-54) starred with the ball.
