A Lahore court on Saturday canceled the non-bailable arrest warrant issued against actor Nazish Jahangir after she voluntarily appeared for the hearing and submitted a bond.
Jahangir, who is facing a fraud case filed by fellow actor Aswad Haroon, was granted relief by Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Shabbir Sial at the Cantt Kutchery Court after furnishing a Rs50,000 bond.
The case, registered under Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Defence C police station, accuses Jahangir of failing to return Rs2.5 million and a car borrowed from Haroon. According to the complaint, she had initially taken the money and vehicle for two months for a project but did not return them even after six months.
Haroon also alleged that when he attempted to retrieve the car’s papers, Jahangir arranged a meeting at a farmhouse but failed to show up, instead sending a man named Sikandar Khan, who allegedly threatened him with weapons.
Jahangir had earlier filed a petition for pre-arrest bail in September 2024, claiming that the FIR was lodged with “malafide intention and for ulterior motives just to humiliate and harass” her. The petition was dismissed.
The Lahore High Court later directed the FIA to review her complaint regarding alleged social media propaganda against her.
The next hearing for the fraud case is scheduled for April 28.
