Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi Secure Convincing Wins in National Women’s T20 Tournament

The National Women’s T20 Tournament witnessed some stellar performances as Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi emerged victorious in their respective matches held at different venues across the country.

Lahore vs. Peshawar at Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi:

In a dominating display of batting prowess, Lahore’s Sidra Amin and Sadaf Shams delivered an outstanding performance, both scoring undefeated centuries. Lahore set an imposing target of 233 runs for Peshawar, with Sidra Amin smashing 113 runs off 55 deliveries and Sadaf Shams contributing 106 runs from 66 balls. Peshawar’s bowlers struggled to make breakthroughs, resulting in Lahore’s mammoth total. In response, Peshawar could only muster 86 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Lahore clinched victory by 147 runs, with Sidra and Sadaf being jointly awarded the player of the match.

Multan vs. Karachi at Ayub Park Ground, Rawalpindi:

Karachi secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Multan in a one-sided encounter. Multan posted a modest total of 91 runs, which Karachi chased down easily in just 11.5 overs. Javeria Khan led the charge with a solid knock of 47 runs, supported by Syeda Aroob Shah’s unbeaten 17. Karachi’s bowlers had earlier restricted Multan’s batting lineup, with Aroob Shah shining with three wickets for 16 runs. Aroob Shah was deservedly awarded the player of the match for her all-round performance.

Quetta vs. Rawalpindi at Diamond Club Ground, Islamabad:

Rawalpindi emerged victorious against Quetta in a thrilling encounter at the Diamond Club Ground. Quetta posted a competitive total of 136 runs, with Tuba Hassan’s unbeaten 70 being the standout performance. However, Rawalpindi chased down the target comfortably with Aliya Riaz and Natalia Parvaiz remaining unbeaten with scores of 63 and 57 respectively. Aliya Riaz’s explosive innings earned her the player of the match accolade.

With these victories, Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi have strengthened their positions in the tournament, showcasing exceptional talent and skill on the field. The competition promises to intensify as all six teams gear up for the upcoming matches scheduled for 19th January.
