Lahore Qalandars and Akhuwat are joining hands and signing MOU on 27th May 2022

Continuing the agenda of empowering youth thru sports, Lahore Qalandars – the most favorite franchise of the Pakistan Super League – has joined with Akhuwat, a Non-Profit Organization – to offer scholarships opportunity to skilled cricketers.

Akhuwat is a non-profit organization which was founded in 2001 on the Islamic principle of Mawakhat or solidarity by Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib who is the Executive Director of the organization. Akhuwat vision and objectives are to build a poverty-free society built on the principles of equipty and to develop and sustain a social system based on mutual support where each individual lives a life full of respect and dignity.

Lahore Qalandars winner of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 and the most active franchise of the Pakistan Super League and is known for providing pathway to young cricketers of the country.

According to the partnership between Lahore Qalandars and Akhuwat, scholarships will be provided to ten students at Qalandars High-Performance Center for their education and promotion of talent.

Lahore Qalandars will select 10 players for this program thru nationwide trials. According to the plan, two players will be picked from Punjab, two from Balochistan, two from KP, and two from Sindh, while one each from AJ&K and Gilgit Baltistan region for this program. The scholarship will be given to students aged 15 and above for period of one year

Lahore Qalandars will ensure that the scholarships are provided to deserving and talented student cricketers having great potential to be selected for Pakistan Super League and having the potential to represent Pakistan at the international level. Players identified and selected through nationwide trials will be trained in Qalandars High Performance Centre under the supervision of international level coaches and consultants.

Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib the Executive Director said that “through this partnership, we can help people by providing them a platform and motivation to start a better life and build their professional career in the field of sports and we hope that we can find the best players through this great initiative because we working together toward a common vision”.

CEO and Owner of Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana added that “we are delighted to announce this partnership, Akhuwat is a well-known name and helped many families in the hour of need, together we can do so much and we are looking forward to helping people through this initiative”.
