Lahore Qalandars Triumph Over Multan Sultans in High-Scoring Encounter

Lahore Qalandars continued their impressive run in PSL X with a thrilling five-wicket victory over Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday night. Chasing a competitive 186-run target, the Qalandars reached the total in 19 overs, thanks to a fiery 89-run partnership between Daryl Mitchell (64 off 40 balls) and Sikandar Raza (40 off 21 balls).

The Qalandars’ chase got off to a shaky start as Mohammad Naeem fell early to Josh Little. Fakhar Zaman provided a quickfire 28 off 22 balls, but the innings gained momentum when Abdullah Shafique (34 off 25) and Daryl Mitchell stitched together a 49-run stand.

A double strike by Ubaid Shah in the 12th over left Lahore at 95-4, but Mitchell and Raza turned the game around with a brutal counterattack. Mitchell smashed four fours and four sixes en route to his second PSL fifty, while Raza sealed the win with a flurry of boundaries, including four sixes.

Earlier, Multan Sultans posted 185-3 after being put in to bat. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan (76 off 48)* and Kamran Ghulam (52 off 31)* powered the innings with an unbroken 115-run stand. Rizwan, the leading run-scorer in PSL X (302 runs), played a composed knock, while Ghulam’s aggressive hitting included four sixes.

Despite early strikes from Haris Rauf and Tom Curran, the Qalandars’ bowlers struggled to contain the late onslaught.
