Lahore Women secured a comfortable nine-wicket victory against Rawalpindi Women in the fifth round of the National Women’s One-Day Tournament, thanks to an unbroken 149-run partnership between Iram Javed and Samiya Afsar.
At Bohranwali Ground, Iram Javed was outstanding, scoring 84 not out off 70 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes. Samiya Afsar complemented her with a solid 62 off 76 balls, featuring 10 fours, as Lahore Women chased down the 155-run target in just 25 overs, losing only opener Eyman Fatima.
Rawalpindi Women, earlier, were bowled out for 154 in 48.5 overs. Tania Saeed top-scored with 36, while Maham Anees contributed 34. Lahore’s bowling attack was led by Zunash Sattar, who took three wickets for 38 runs, while Quratulain and Ayesha Bilal chipped in with two wickets each.
Karachi Women Crush Peshawar Women by 150 Runs
At Jawad Sports Complex Ground, Karachi Women posted 194 for nine in their 50 overs and then skittled out Peshawar Women for a mere 44 in 25 overs.
Karachi captain Omaima Sohail shone with both bat and ball, scoring 47 and then taking 4 wickets for just 2 runs. Anosha Nasir (30) and Syeda Aroob Shah (20) also contributed with the bat. In the bowling department, Maham Manzoor and Syeda Aroob Shah took three and two wickets, respectively, to dismantle Peshawar’s batting lineup.
Quetta Women Edge Multan Women in Thrilling Finish
In a low-scoring thriller at Iqbal Stadium, Quetta Women clinched a one-wicket win over Multan Women. Chasing a modest target of 111, Quetta slipped from 60 for three to 104 for eight, but No.7 batter Arijah Haseeb’s unbeaten 33 guided them home in 30.5 overs.
Multan Women, earlier, managed only 110 in 40 overs, with Sadaf Shamas scoring 35. Quetta’s bowlers, Kinza Wahab (two for 17), Saima Malik (two for 21), and Ayesha Amjad (two for 25), shared the wickets.
