Light, Breezy, and Impactful; ‘Dil Tera Hogaya’ was the Eid telefilm we needed!

This year on Eid, the ace duo of producers, Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi really outdid themselves when they brought Feroze Khan, Zara Noor Abbas, Javed Sheikh, and Saba Faisal on the screens in one frame. It doesn’t come as a surprise though with 7th Sky Entertainment’s tradition of bringing the most entertaining content on our screens every Eid. When a telefilm has such a stellar cast and is produced by this duo, you know, this would be a fun ride. So it proved. Dil Tera Hogya is light and breezy, yet it leaves an impact.

Fehmida (Saba Faisal) is a designer who steals ideas from famous designers, while Zubaida (Shaheen Khan) is a Youtuber cook who steals recipes from famous chefs. They are married to two brothers, played by Javed Sheikh and Farhan Ali Agha. Both ladies were friends, pre-marriage, but things have gone sour ever since. This has impacted not only their relations but also their children Roma (Zara Noor Abbas) and Annu (Feroze Khan). Nonetheless, due to their fathers’ insistence, they have to live in a joint family system.

This causes a lot of trouble between the two small families. They are at each other’s throats constantly. Plotting and scheming to down the other one. The kids are in it too. Brothers are away in Dubai and enjoy a good relationship. They are sick of this and want to find a solution. Hence, they create a situation that brings the families closer and the kids even closer.

A charming romance brews between two Annu and Roma. They dream about spending their lives together. This is what the kids want, and this is what their fathers wish too. Everything seems to be going as planned, but disaster strikes. The brother gets overconfident and brags about the coup they have pulled off. Zubaida and Fehmida find out and are again at each other’s throats. Naturally, the young love birds are devastated.

Will they find a way out? Can the brothers come up with another way to pacify things? Will the two old friends reconcile and allow their children to follow their heart’s will? What is the actual message of the telefilm?

The story is uncomplicated and well told. Dil Tera Hogya manages to deliver a strong message without being preachy. It certainly helps that his cast has such incredible performers. Feroz Khan, as Annu is as charming as ever. Zara Noor Abbas lights up the scene with her presence. Saba Faisal and Shaheen Khan didn’t miss a beat either.

Among everything else that aired on our screens this Eid ul Adha, Dil Tera Hogya certainly stands out for its simple yet meaningful message, top-class acting, and not to forget a beautiful OST. Watch it now if you haven’t already.
