“Leaving the media was not easy since I had spent over a decade long time in the industry. But I took it as a much-needed break and waited for things to settle down. I did get a few offers but I turned those down as I thought I was not ready to return to screen yet. Now when 92 News called, I thought now is the time.

“I have been with the channel before, in fact I was part of the launching team, therefore the place and the environment is not new. Now being a senior news anchor of the channel is a responsibility and a challenge that I want to take up and deliver with well with my performance.”

Before leaving media in 2019 Mahwish Nisar had been among those news anchors who established their name during the booming years of the news media industry and broadcast journalism in Pakistan.

In 2011, Mahwish Nisar joined and became the face of the channel’s newscast. In January 2015, Mahwish Nisar Joined 92 News HD, where she was part of the channel’s launching team.
